TRACE at DATAMITE Meetup 2025 – Bridging Research & Industry in EU-Funded Innovation

We are happy to share that TRACE successfully participated in the DATAMITE Meetup 2025, a prestigious event held on February 6th, 2025, in Athens, Greece. This gathering served as a crucial platform for bridging the gap between research and industry within EU-funded innovation projects. Hosted by the IT Innovation Center of OTE Group on behalf of the DATAMITE project, it brought together key stakeholders to exchange insights, foster collaboration, and explore the evolving data economy.

Our participation provided an excellent opportunity to showcase TRACE’s research through an engaging exhibition stand, facilitating meaningful discussions on critical data-related topics. The event also enabled us to connect with industry and academic leaders, fostering potential synergies and future collaborations.

A key highlight of the meetup was a series of five dynamic panel discussions addressing pivotal issues in the data economy. Topics included creating value in data marketplaces, opportunities and risks within data spaces, data exploitation in the health sector, strategies for data monetization, and the role of data as a valuable asset. Additional discussions focused on data-driven transformation across industries, highlighting key innovations, as well as the challenges of privacy and security in an increasingly data-centric world, emphasizing the balance between legal and ethical considerations.

TRACE was honored to contribute to this collaborative environment, exchange ideas, and demonstrate how our project aligns with the evolving needs of data-driven industries. The event provided invaluable networking opportunities, fostering innovation and strengthening EU-funded research initiatives.

About DATAMINE: The EU-funded DATAMITE project (https://www.datamite-horizon.eu/) will develop a modular, open-source and multi-domain framework to improve such technologies and solutions in the form of software modules, training and business materials. The framework will provide users with the tools they need to improve the quality management of their data, adhering to FAIR principles and allowing upskilling on technical and business aspects that make data more reliable. At the external level, it will provide new sources of revenue and opportunities for interaction with other stakeholders.
