TRACE at the Symposium on Challenges in Urban Logistics Management

Portorož, Slovenia – 15 October 2025

The TRACE project participated in the symposium “Challenges in Urban Logistics Management in Slovenian Municipalities”, held on 15 October 2025 in Portorož, Slovenia. The event gathered around 40 participants, including representatives from municipalities, ministries, logistics companies, and research institutions, all sharing a common goal – to improve and modernise logistics management in urban areas.

The University of Maribor team presented the topic “Challenges and Opportunities in Urban Logistics Management”, introducing the TRACE project and its Slovenian pilot demonstration, which focuses on the introduction of autonomous delivery vehicles for last-mile logistics. The presentation highlighted how collaborative digital platforms like TRACE can help cities and logistics providers coordinate operations, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impacts.

Throughout the symposium, participants discussed how Slovenian municipalities can enhance logistics planning and integrate innovative technologies into their operations. The TRACE presentation attracted strong interest from local authorities and logistics providers, who expressed enthusiasm for future collaboration and the potential integration of TRACE solutions into urban logistics environments.

Participation in this event provided an excellent opportunity for TRACE to connect with key stakeholders involved in shaping urban logistics policies and practices in Slovenia. By engaging in these discussions, the TRACE project continues to promote more sustainable and efficient logistics systems across Europe.
