How has your company evolved since its inception?
Founded in Luxembourg in 2013, InCites Consulting is an innovative research and advisory firm specialising in the ICT sector. Our expertise spans telecommunications techno-economics, regulatory economics and policy, demand forecasting, business and pricing models, as well as innovation management, dissemination, and exploitation.
Over the years, we have grown into a trusted advisor for some of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, technology vendors, system integrators, universities, and regulatory authorities. Our executives combine extensive experience in network engineering with deep economic expertise, having authored more than 100 scientific publications and received over 300 citations in the past two decades.
Alongside our consulting activities, we have established ourselves as a reliable research and innovation partner of the European Commission, actively contributing to cutting-edge Horizon Europe and other European-funded projects that drive the digital transformation of Europe.

What specific role does your company play in the TRACE project?
InCites Consulting plays a strategic role in TRACE by leading activities that maximise the project’s long-term impact and market potential. We coordinate Work Package 5, which focuses on identifying barriers to adoption, analysing future market opportunities, and developing innovative business models for synchromodal logistics. In parallel, we lead Work Package 7, responsible for dissemination, communication, exploitation, stakeholder engagement, and the long-term sustainability of the project’s results.
In addition, our CEO serves as the project’s Dissemination & Communication Manager, Exploitation Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Interoperability & Standards Manager, ensuring that TRACE delivers high-quality, impactful, and widely adopted outcomes.
What is your long-term vision for the TRACE project?
Our long-term vision is for TRACE to become a benchmark for the digital transformation of European logistics. We envision a future where logistics networks operate as fully connected, data-driven, and collaborative ecosystems that optimise resources, reduce environmental impact, and enhance operational resilience.
By combining advanced digital technologies with innovative business models and trusted data-sharing mechanisms, TRACE has the potential to demonstrate how synchromodal logistics can become a practical and scalable solution for the transport sector.
How do you see the TRACE project impacting the industry and the community?
TRACE has the potential to significantly reshape the logistics sector by enabling smarter decision-making, improving multimodal transport planning, and reducing both operational costs and environmental impacts.
For society, the benefits extend well beyond logistics. More efficient transport systems can help reduce congestion, lower emissions, improve urban mobility, and strengthen supply chain resilience. Ultimately, TRACE contributes to a cleaner environment, stronger collaboration across the logistics ecosystem, and a higher quality of life for citizens.
What are some of the key challenges you foresee in the project, and how do you plan to address them?
As highlighted through the analyses conducted in Work Package 5, one of the main challenges is overcoming the fragmentation that still characterises the logistics sector. Limited data sharing, organisational silos, and competitive concerns often hinder collaboration between stakeholders.
Another important challenge is ensuring the alignment of regulatory frameworks while encouraging the adoption of innovative digital technologies across different countries and market environments.
To address these challenges, TRACE promotes trusted data-sharing frameworks, active stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based policy recommendations. By validating innovative business models and demonstrating real-world pilot applications, we aim to build confidence among stakeholders and accelerate the adoption of more collaborative and sustainable logistics solutions.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of being part of the TRACE project?
One of the most rewarding aspects has been collaborating with an outstanding consortium that brings together expertise from academia, industry, technology providers, public authorities, and logistics operators across Europe.
Working towards a shared vision while witnessing the project’s innovative solutions evolve from concept to real-world implementation is extremely motivating. Knowing that our work can contribute to a more sustainable and efficient transport ecosystem makes the experience particularly meaningful.
