What are the main products or services your company offers?
Codewheel operates at the intersection of computer vision and virtual reality with respect to the human-computer interaction. We leverage our proprietary human-centric AI to develop immersive applications, continuously expanding our service portfolio to deliver scalable, cutting-edge solutions for enterprises.
What specific role does your company play in the TRACE project?
Codewheel is one of the technology providers for the TRACE project, developing the most innovative module of the platform – a Virtual Reality application for the real-time remote monitoring of unmanned vehicles performing automatic last-mile delivery.
How do you see TRACE impacting the industry and the community?
The TRACE project is poised to be a generational catalyst for the European distribution and delivery sector. By integrating advanced tools, TRACE will fundamentally enhance planning, monitoring, and operational execution, all while upholding the stringent environmental regulations of the European Union.
Can you share any success stories or notable achievements from your collaboration within the TRACE project?
Our most significant achievement has been the seamless remote intervention in the operations of Robotnik’s RB-VOGUI, executed directly from our virtual cockpit. This real-time, long-distance communication is a testament to the successful convergence of breakthroughs in computer engineering and robotics, demonstrating a robotic system that changes its behavior based on human feedback instantaneously.
If you had to describe TRACE in three words, what would they be?
Next-generation Logistics Operations
What new opportunities do you believe TRACE will open up for your company?
The development of the Virtual Cockpit along with clear feedback from our logistics partners that confirmed that there is a gap in scaling the automation of the last-mile delivery, which is mainly the supervision from a human in a one-to-many fashion, opened up a new market path for our services. Following the project, we plan to engage with more stakeholders, further refine the application and launch it as a dedicated product.
What personally excites you the most about the TRACE project?
What excites us the most is the sheer complexity and breadth of the solution. TRACE successfully operates as a well-oiled machine, unifying fundamentally distinct disciplines including robotics, shortest path theory, blockchain, and virtual reality, to provide scalable logistics solutions, from large-sacle cargo distribution all the way to last-mile delivery.
