The Slovenian Demonstration is an ambitious pilot designed to transform the landscape of urban logistics. It will be conducted with Slovenian Post and University of Maribor, in collaboration with BTC Company.
The project will be divided into two phases. In the first phase, the project will leverage the TRACE platform to simulate various last-mile delivery options. Using real parcel data, the simulation will explore the effectiveness of state-of-the-art delivery vehicles like e-cargo bikes and delivery robots. These simulations will consider legislative constraints and expected Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to determine the most efficient and eco-friendly delivery methods.
The second phase will bring these simulations to life, implementing the chosen delivery methods in the bustling ecosystem of AV Living Lab, resembling city centers. Here, the project aims to establish an Urban Consolidation Center (UCC). This UCC will enable parcel consolidation, improve resource utilization, and reduce overall traffic within the commercial center.
The ultimate goal of the Slovenian Demonstration is to significantly reduce CO2 emissions, cut down vehicle mileage, and improve the efficiency and reliability of delivery services. By doing so, the project aims to serve as a scalable and adaptable model for sustainable urban logistics.
