Date: August 23rd to 25th, 2024
Location: Gorizia, Italy
TRACE had the honor of participating in the World Folklore Festival 2024, held in the picturesque town of Gorizia, Italy. The festival, which brought together performers from diverse cultures, celebrated global traditions through music, dance, and art. It served as a platform for cultural exchange and the preservation of traditional practices, while fostering unity and mutual understanding between communities.
TRACE Presence at Piazza Vittoria
As part of the festival, TRACE set up an informational stand at Piazza Vittoria, where festival-goers had the chance to engage with our team. The stand focused on discussing essential urban challenges, such as urban safety and goods mobility, with a particular emphasis on last-mile delivery in urban environments. The aim was to raise awareness about the impact of efficient urban mobility on both economic sustainability and city safety.
TRACE’s presence at the festival was made possible through a partnership with ISIG (Istituto di Sociologia Internazionale di Gorizia). Together, we worked to educate participants on how urban areas can become safer and more efficient through smart logistics and sustainable transportation.
Clustering Activities with the SAFE CITIES Project
In alignment with the goals of the SAFE CITIES project, TRACE contributed to clustering activities that highlighted the importance of innovative solutions for improving the safety of urban spaces. These initiatives drew a connection between folklore traditions and modern-day concerns, such as secure mobility and the enhancement of public spaces for everyone.
The festival not only allowed us to showcase our research but also facilitated fruitful discussions with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, opening up opportunities for collaboration on projects that prioritize urban safety and sustainability.
