TRACE featured on Austrian National Television: Bringing autonomous Delivery Robots to the Public Eye

We are excited to share that TRACE was recently highlighted in a televised news segment on Austrian National Television (ORF), reaching an estimated 120,000 viewers across the country. The feature focused on the growing presence of autonomous delivery robots in urban environments, with TRACE’s innovative contributions playing a key role in the discussion.

The segment explored the future of last-mile delivery solutions and how robotic systems are being tested to integrate seamlessly into everyday city life. TRACE was presented as a leading European initiative supporting the development and real-world piloting of such technologies in several countries, including Slovenia, Italy, and Greece.

In the broadcast, viewers were introduced to the project’s mission of improving sustainability and efficiency in logistics through automation, with particular emphasis on the safe interaction of delivery robots with pedestrians and urban infrastructure. These robots, supported by TRACE research, are being developed to navigate sidewalks, cross streets, and deliver goods directly to consumers — all while reducing traffic congestion and emissions.

Our partner TU Wien, actively involved in the research and pilot deployment efforts, provided expert insight during the feature, reinforcing TRACE’s relevance to both technological innovation and societal impact.
