The TRACE project has published a new brochure presenting REManager, an innovative software component that strengthens the resilience and operational reliability of collaborative logistics through real-time monitoring, event detection and coordinated response mechanisms.

As logistics operations become increasingly connected and multimodal, the ability to rapidly detect operational disruptions and coordinate appropriate responses is essential. REManager has been developed within TRACE to address this challenge by continuously monitoring operational data and transforming it into actionable information that supports efficient decision-making.

REManager receives live information from multiple connected TRACE components, including vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), sensors, smart lockers and other logistics assets. By combining this information with operational context such as routing, fleet availability and shipment status, the system automatically identifies relevant events and initiates appropriate follow-up actions.

The component supports a wide range of logistics scenarios, including:

• Vehicle and cargo condition monitoring;
• Shipment and delivery event management;
• Route deviation and infrastructure awareness;
• Weather-related operational alerts;
• Support for multimodal logistics operations involving trucks, cargo bikes, UGVs and smart lockers.

One of REManager’s key strengths is its transparent rule-based approach, enabling operational events to be detected consistently and linked directly to mitigation actions. For example, when a vehicle failure is detected, REManager can automatically trigger a search for alternative vehicles, update delivery statuses and support the continuation of logistics operations with minimal disruption.

By improving situational awareness and enabling faster responses to unexpected events, REManager contributes to safer, more reliable and more resilient logistics services, supporting TRACE’s vision of intelligent, collaborative and sustainable freight transport.
