On December 3, 2024, the University of Maribor showcased the TRACE project at the 8th Danube Region Transport Days (DRTD) conference in Ljubljana. The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from the European Commission, academia, financing institutions, business representatives, and the general public. This annual conference aims to discuss and define guiding principles for sustainable transport in the Danube Region, advancing best practices, fostering networking, and identifying critical research and project activities to enhance mobility and multimodality.

With nearly 100 attendees, the conference provided a platform for sharing innovative solutions to improve transport and logistics operations. The TRACE project was presented as an excellent example of how cutting-edge technologies, such as AI and blockchain, can play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transport in the region.

TRACE’s focus on optimizing logistics operations, enhancing multimodality, and promoting eco-friendly infrastructure aligns seamlessly with the conference’s mission to boost sustainable transport and connectivity. Special attention was given to the TRACE platform, which integrates logistics services to streamline and optimize logistics processes across various providers.

A standout feature of the presentation was the introduction of pilot activities, including testing deliveries with autonomous robots and zero-emission vehicles. These initiatives garnered significant positive feedback, highlighting the project’s potential to contribute to sustainable mobility in the Danube Region.

The enthusiastic reception of TRACE at DRTD 2024 further solidified its role as a key player in advancing sustainable transport and logistics solutions in the region.
