TRACE was proud to participate in Dronitaly Conference 2024, Italy’s premier event focused on professional civil drone applications. This conference serves as a vital platform for industry operators and potential users from sectors like infrastructure, construction, logistics, utilities, and public administration to connect and discuss emerging issues and trends.
At this year’s event, the Institute for Transport and Logistics (ITL) highlighted TRACE’s latest advancements during a workshop titled “Drones and New Service Ecosystems,” organized by Regione Emilia-Romagna and Tecnopolo Forlì-Cesena. The workshop aimed to explore innovative development paths and business models to foster growth in the drone industry, showcasing regional research initiatives and encouraging open dialogue among participants.
Denis Grasso, ITL Project Manager, addressed the expanding role of drones in urban logistics, despite current regulatory and financial challenges. He presented ongoing trials involving autonomous drones, swarm technology, and intermodal logistics integration, which TRACE and its partners plan to pilot in Modena, Italy, in 2025. These advancements are projected to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
