TRACE Slovenian Demonstration: Advancing Smarter Urban Logistics

The Slovenian demonstration of the TRACE Project is leading the way in developing more efficient and sustainable urban delivery solutions. In collaboration with Pošta Slovenije, AV Living Lab, and the University of Maribor, this initiative is exploring innovative approaches to optimize last-mile logistics.

A Two-Phase Approach to Smarter Deliveries

The demonstration is being carried out in two key phases:

    • Simulation Phase – Using real parcel data, TRACE is evaluating various delivery methods, such as e-cargo bikes and autonomous robots, while considering key performance indicators and regulatory requirements.
    • Implementation Phase – The most effective solutions from the simulation phase are being tested in real-world conditions. A key feature of this phase is the introduction of an Urban Consolidation Center (UCC), designed to streamline parcel distribution and reduce traffic congestion in urban areas.

Driving Sustainable Change

By optimizing delivery routes, reducing vehicle mileage, and cutting emissions, the TRACE Slovenian demonstration is paving the way for smarter, greener urban logistics. This initiative represents a significant step towards making last-mile deliveries more sustainable and efficient, benefiting both businesses and city residents.
