On February 4th, 2025, TRACE participated in the 3rd workshop of the GRETA project, focused on exploring sustainable and innovative transport solutions for last-mile deliveries in urban centers. This online event, hosted by the Institute for Transport and Logistics (ITL), brought together a diverse group of participants, including manufacturing, retail, and logistics companies, transport providers, digital and technology solution providers, as well as academia. The workshop served as an important platform for advancing discussions on how to address the challenges of last-mile logistics and develop solutions that contribute to the sustainability of urban transport systems.
TRACE presented its Italian pilot project at the workshop. TRACE’s presentation highlighted how its innovative approach could contribute to the goals of the GRETA project, particularly in the context of the evolving landscape of last-mile deliveries in urban areas. TRACE’s Italian pilot is an essential part of its ongoing efforts to develop and test cutting-edge solutions aimed at improving urban transport efficiency and sustainability.
TRACE’s involvement in the GRETA workshop provided a unique opportunity to share best practices, collaborate with international experts, and further contribute to the development of sustainable urban transport strategies. The workshop allowed participants to exchange knowledge on topics such as electric vehicles, automated delivery systems, digital tools for logistics management, and the integration of sustainable practices in urban logistics.
TRACE looks forward to continuing its contributions to the development of sustainable transport solutions and learning from other experts in the field.
About the GRETA Project
The GRETA (Green and Smart Transport Solutions for Urban Areas) project, part of the Interreg Central Europe programme, aimed to promote and implement sustainable transport solutions to address the challenges of last-mile delivery. As urban centers continued to grow, there was increasing pressure on transport networks, particularly regarding the delivery of goods to city centers. GRETA focused on finding innovative ways to reduce congestion, lower carbon emissions, and optimize delivery systems within urban environments, with a focus on integrating smart technologies, efficient processes, and green solutions.
